At the October 28, 2025 council meeting, Gawler accepted an invitation to join the Rainbow Council Network.
The Network allows councils from across the state to collaborate and learn together and implement strategies to improve the wellbeing and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in our community and share experiences of what they are doing within their respective communities to contribute to this goal.
The acceptance came after a raw and emotive speech by Cr Issac Solomon, who’s recount of personal experiences helped pass this motion.
