Recognised internationally on November 20 every year, we pay respect to the trans and gender diverse members of the community who have lost their life at the hands of others or by suicide. We celebrate the bravery of our communities and recognise ongoing struggles to bring equality to transgender, gender diverse, and non binary communities in South Australia and around the globe.
In 2021, for the first time ever, iconic South Australian institutions lit up in the trans pride colours to commemorate International Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Over 100 people gathered at Tarntanya Wama on Kaurna land (Elder Park Rotunda, Adelaide) to demonstrate trans resilience, strength and pride in the face of ongoing discrimination, harassment and transphobia.
