Join us at Trans Day of Remembrance

This week from 13-19 November is Transgender Awareness Week, a time where we celebrate the incredible trans and gender diverse humans in our lives and commit to being the best trans allies we can be.

To celebrate, we’re joining forces with our friends at TransMasc SA and TLLPC to host our International Trans Day of Remembrance event!

When: Saturday 20 November 2021,  6:30pm

Where: Tarntanya Wama on Kaurna land (Elder Park Rotunda, Adelaide).

Trans and gender diverse people experience frequent discrimination, harassment and abuse which leads to significantly higher rates of poor mental health and wellbeing.

To combat this, we need people like you to demonstrate their support and visible allyship for trans and gender diverse South Australians.

Even better, some of our own SARAA volunteers will be speaking about their experiences of being trans and gender diverse, including:

2021 Feast Festival Ambassador and proud First Nations trans woman Charlotte Coulthard-Dare (she/ her)
non-binary activist, SARAA Board Chair and Out for Australia’s 2021 Changemaker of the Year Varo (they/ them)
peer worker in the sex work and BDSM communities, Cherrie Rogers (they/ them)
To find out more about how to be a great trans ally, check out these incredible resources from Minus18 and ACON’s TransHub.
